In 2015, we hired The Joshua Survey to provide a demographic study of our church and our community. Here are some of their discoveries.

It is important to note is that both of our campuses have a very similar demographic makeup. This similarity was confirmation of the area we chose to start the first of our multi-site campuses.

  • Both areas are projected to have population growth of about 5% over the next 5 years (in a 10-mile radius)
    • Franklin Road: 455,000 (current) to 476,000 (projected)
    • Shelby Street: 470,000 (current) to 495,000 (projected)
  • There is ethinc diversity, though it is lower than the national average.
    • 75% Anglo
    • 11% African American
    • 8% Hispanic
    • 3% Asian (expected to grow by 25% over the next 5 years, the fastest projected growth)
    • 3% Native American and others
  • Population by Generations:
    • 20% Gen Z (0 to 13 years old)
    • 28% Millenials (14 to 33)
    • 29% Survivors (34 to 54)
    • 17% Boomers (55 to 72)
    • 5% Silents (73 to 90)
    • 1% Builders (91+)
  • The faith receptivity is average, split equally among those Not Involved, Somewhat Involved, and Strongly Involved in Christian religious affiliation.
